STONEY NAKODA CONTINUE LANGUAGE WORK
Stoney Nakoda Elders, speakers, and knowledge keepers gathered to review words for the first time since the historic release of Stoney Nakoda language resources in December 2021. Collectively, those who contributed edited roughly 1,000 entries and added 34 new ones. This meeting was part of furthering the objectives of a multi-year Stoney Nakoda language project that includes the development of a Level 2 textbook, a student dictionary, and continued dictionary updates.

PODCAST ABOUT LANGUAGE REVIVAL
Recently, The Christian Science Monitor released a series of podcast episodes about language revival, its importance to culture, and how it is a path to healing. The latest episode, which features clips from The Language Conservancy, discusses how the U.S. government spent an estimated $2 billion on setting up boarding schools but hasn't spent nearly the same amount on language revitalization efforts. The episode also offers a look at the language work that is being done to revive Indigenous languages in schools in (what is now) Alaska.
