EASTERN SHOSHONE RAPID WORD COLLECTION

Last month, the Eastern Shoshone Tribe hosted their first Rapid Word Collection. Eastern Shoshone speakers, Elders, and support staff came together over a 2-week period to create their comprehensive dictionary database. The event was a huge success for reinvigorating the language and was spotlighted in a WyoFile news article

"The Eastern Shoshone Cultural Center is SO grateful to the 20 fluent Elders and speakers from the Fort Washakie and Crowheart communities that came together to make a successful Rapid Word Collection event. It's a good feeling to know that generations to come will have access to the correct pronunciations of our Shoshone Language words." - Robyn Rofkar, Administrative Assistant, Eastern Shoshone Cultural Center
