Cowlitz Tribal Newspaper | Spring 2020
The Language Conservancy is the foremost organization currently working with endangered languages in North America. The Cowlitz Indian Tribe started a contract with them in January 2020 to start revitalizing the Lower Cowlitz Salish language,
They are currently in the process of digitizing and organizing the Dale M. Kinkade Cowlitz Salish Dictionary into a database. While also editing and cutting audio data to start aligning dictionary entries with the audio files.
All of this compiled data will be put into a Vocab Builder app that can be utilized be all tribal members. As language resources become available, tribal members will be notified.
