Crow Language Weekend

This September, the Crow Language Consortium hosted the first-ever Crow Language Weekend. Over 25 students and Crow speakers came together virtually for an intensive two-day workshop for beginners. Basic Crow phrases, pronunciation, and much more were discussed in online classrooms with students joining from across the country. Follow the CLC Facebook page for upcoming events.

Here's some of the feedback we heard from students:
"I really enjoyed the event! It was fun to practice things in breakout rooms, and I liked the pace of the lessons."
"Thank you to the instructors who did a great job!"

Moose Cree release event

On September 11, the Ininew Friendship Centre hosted a Drive-By BBQ event where they distributed free copies of the two new Moose Cree picture books,ᑌᐦᑌᐎᔑᔥ (Froggy) and ᓂᑮ ᐙᐸᒫᐤ ᔑᑳᒄ! (I Saw a Skunk!), produced in coordination with TLC Canada. Media Player apps were also created for readers to download and use to interact with the books, making the stories come to life. Learners can hear the proper pronunciation of words in the book to practice their speaking skills. This is the first time TLC partnered to develop a project in the Cree language. We're excited to be a part of the revitalization of Moose Cree! Connect with the Ininew Friendship Centre for more information.
